Words have power. They may not always result in the outcome or feelings we desire. Being able to express ourselves consciously, intentionally, and from a place of dignity and empowerment is a gift to ourselves and to others.
In this workshop participants will learn the art of communication. They will practice skills to clearly state boundaries, uphold agreements, and consciously state and receive yes, no, and maybe or I would like to try.
This workshop is inspired by Tonya’s mentor and friend, Goddess Amina Peterson of Atlanta School of Tantra who reminds us daily, “Words are the spells we cast”.
Audience:
This class is suitable learners of all identities navigating all types of intimate relationships.
Continuing Education Credits:
This program meets the requirements of the American Association of Sexuality Educators, Counselors and Therapists. These CE credits may be applied toward AASECT certification and renewal of certification. Provider # 07-111K Expires 12/31/2026. Modern Path is solely responsible for all aspects of the programs.
Learning Objectives:
Students will learn at least three strategies for communicating clearly, without minimizing the risk of shame, blame, or judgement
Students will practice the art of giving and recieving the gift of the words Yes, No, Maybe, and I will try.
Students will identity and apply three startegies for listening to, interpreting and applying messages from their body to communicate boundaries, uphold agreements, and state needs.

Facility is ADA accessible, free parking, gender neutral restrooms, water and tea on site, chairs will be provided that accommodate up to 500 pounds, workshop will be 10 people plus instructor; two 15 minute breaks will be provided in addition to a general encouragement for self care during the workshop
About the facilitator:
Tonya is a woman of diverse skills and talents. She has walked the paths of child, daughter, sister, mother, spouse, partner, business woman, performer, teacher, facilitator, and so many more. She is an Autistic, queer, white woman of the American South who is kinky and consensually non monogamous. She has been active in the pagan, energy work, poly, and kink communities for over 20 years. Tonya has been studying and practicing wellness modalities since early childhood. Her passion for wellness has led her to become an Erotic Embodiment Practitioner, Conscious Erotic Touch Practitioner, Reiki Master, body stress ritual facilitator, consultant, educator, and coach. She is currently in the final stages of becoming an AASS Certified Sexologist. In Tonya’s words, “As a society, we have been taught to ignore the relationship between our body, mind, and spirit. This denies us the pleasure and peace found when we are fully embodied. It denies us the ability to recognize that we are already whole and divine beings. My goal is to support individuals as they learn to live and love fully.” All of Tonya’s workshops are a safer space for all bodies and identities.
