Therapy Groups

At Modern Path, we offer queer-affirming support groups, therapy groups, and coaching spaces designed for healing, connection, and growth. Whether you're seeking community, coping skills, trauma recovery, body liberation, or support in a relationship with a trans or nonbinary partner, our groups provide compassionate spaces to be fully yourself. Virtual and in-person options available in Atlanta.

Group for Partners of Trans/Non-Binary/Gender Expansive People

Share the joys and challenges faced by partners of transgender, non-binary, and gender expansive individuals, including celebrations, intimacy, fear, grief and loss, myths, exploration, curiosity, family impact, redefining identities, and more.

This closed group is a unique opportunity to hold space for others (and have space held for you), skill building, resource sharing, and practicing more grounding and centering tools in a safe space.

Shame Resilience Group

This group offers a supportive and comfortable space for individuals who are beginning trauma therapy and would benefit from additional connection before moving into deeper work.

Participants will explore early foundations of trauma processing, including building self-esteem, strengthening emotional awareness, and gently lowering the internal walls that can limit growth.

This group is an ideal referral option for therapists who are preparing their clients for stage 2 trauma work. Members are invited to come as they are and practice using their voice in a space that centers safety, support, and shared experience.

Befriend Your Body Group

Befriend your body at any size is a supportive, affirming coaching group designed for plus-size folx who are ready to build a kinder, more respectful relationship with their body, without shrinking, fixing, or “earning” worth.

In this group, we will gently but intentionally unlearn diet culture and diet industry myths, unpack internalized fatphobia, and explore how systems of oppression (including racism, ableism, heternormativity, and sizeism) shape our body image experiences. We honor that body image is not one-size-fits-all, and that your relationship with your body is deeply personal, political, and shaped by your lived identity.

Queer Skills Group

Feeling overwhelmed, burned out, or exhausted? In our society, navigating life can be challenging, especially for LGBTQ+ folx. But don't worry--DBT can help! Join our group to learn practical skills for managing stress, self-soothing, and building meaningful connections.

We'll explore strategies tailored to discuss how to thrive as a minority in a predominantly cishet, neurotypical world. This group is open to those who are 18 or older and identify as LGBTQ+. Come aboard and let's tackle these challenges together!

Note: This is an 8-week curriculum with breaks every 4 weeks. Participants must be LGBTQ-questioning or -affirmed.

Dungeons and Dragons Therapy Group

Welcome to D&D Group Therapy! The group will consist of 4-6 individuals, each of whom is working towards their own therapeutic goals both in group and outside with an individual therapist. The group will utilize Dungeons and Dragons, the classic table-top roleplaying game, as a medium for social interaction, problem-solving, roleplay, and self-reflection using classic drama and narrative therapy techniques in a unique manner!

Each member of the group will create a character based around their personal therapy goals and utilize that character to process and experience events/scenarios that would be otherwise out of reach.
