A supportive and accessible book club for adults navigating changes in their body, identity, or abilities. This closed 12-week process group combines guided reading, reflection, and group discussion to explore themes of body grief, chronic illness, disability, neurodivergence, injury, postpartum changes, and self-compassion.
Together, participants will process the emotional impact of body changes while building coping skills, community, self-understanding, and body trust. Sessions include gentle discussion prompts, grounding exercises, mindfulness practices, and experiential activities designed to support healing at a slower, more accessible pace.
This group is intentionally structured with smaller reading sections and a supportive format for individuals who may struggle with traditional book clubs due to fatigue, brain fog, attention differences, chronic pain, or cognitive overwhelm.
Topics explored include:
-Body grief and identity shifts
-Medical trauma and dismissal
-Shame, perfectionism, and self-advocacy
-Nervous system responses and coping skills
-Anger, blame, and social messaging about bodies
-Radical acceptance and self-compassion
-Rebuilding body trust and hope
