Supervisor, Educator & Consultant

Hi, I’m Nick. I am the Director and co-owner operator of the practice. While, I do not see clients for therapy anymore, I am beyond proud to lead, supervise and mentor the team of folks we have here at Modern Path. I also supervise folks in GA and FL who are not part of the Modern Path team.

I blend my lived, clinical, and adminstrative experiences as I guide the organization and select projects that are meaningful to me and which I believe will take us to new levels as individuals, a team and a business.

My career has spanned 25 years in community behavioral health, administrative oversight, and private practice. Where I have been is not as important as where I am. What’s most important is that I am here; a middle aged, neurodivergent trans man with chronic depression and PTSD who has the knowledge and experiences that span a life time. I have had the honor of having touched more lives than I can count over the span of my career. At a micro level thousands and at a policy and systemic level hundreds of thousands.

I take great pride in supervising other queer and neurodivergent clinicians who often have challenges finding their place in this industry (much like I did), providing them an opportunity to develop clinically and ethically while living authentically.

My current focus for the practice is to develop and strengthen our clinical team, expand our continuing education, community education, and coaching services with a focus on the needs of those who live and love outside of the labels and constructs placed on us by the social naratives of individualism, capitalism and systemic opression. In addition to what is happening here at Modern Path I am available for other projects that align with my values and bondaries.

I volunteer as the Chairperon of the AASECT Ethics Advisory Committee and at the pleasure of the Board of Directors, hold a seat on the Amerian Association of Somatic Sexologists Advisory Board. In my personal life, I am and always will be a Leatherman and an anarchistic punk. I am married and have two additional partners who have been along on this journey with me, holding me in love and compassion no matter what has come our way. I have a grown child who is also in healthcare and makes Dad proud every day.

If you have questions about supervision, consultation, training, or working on a project together send me a message and let’s see if we can make it work.

My current fee structure is:

$250 per clinical hour for supervision/consultation and $150 per two hour group. Please do not let the costs deter you. I have the privelege of adjusting my financial boundaries when your needs align with my community service goals. I also hold slots for free supervision for under represented individuals in our profession. While these slots are currently filled, I expect one to become available in June 2024.

My teaching fees begin at $300 per hour for workshops I already have in my catalog and $600 per hour for ones I have to build to your unique specifications. This does not include travel fees for appearances outside of the metro area. Due to my disabilities I prefer to make appearances via video conference as travel requires me to fund a companion for support.
